Art Demonstration Details
Come and join us on Saturday 29th April when one of our most popular Watercolour Artists, Steve Coates will be attending Calder Graphics for a full day demonstration.
Sheffield watercolour artist Stephen Coates aims to help and inspire other people who share his love of painting. He will be demonstrating his skills at Calder graphics, and will be painting flying birds of prey in a loose and energetic style. He will explain easier ways to draw the shape of the birds first and then show you how to use watercolour paint and fine liner pens to create the final image. The painting consists of a dynamic background wash, wet into wet watercolour blending, line sketching with a pen and splashes of paint to help create movement.
The event will start around 10.30 a.m and finish around 15.30 p.m outside Calder Graphics Art shop, on the ground floor of the Byram Arcade.
The event is completely free to attend and people can come and go as they please during the day. We will have limited seating and table space (around 30 seats). You are more than welcome to bring your own materials along and Steve will also be offering a 20 to 30 minute taster session late morning and late afternoon.
Don't forget you can also get lunch or just grab a tea or coffee in the Blue Rooms Cafe and shop in a number of independent businesses within the Arcade
