About this event
Food is a universal connector! It is has political, cultural, emotional and environmental impacts and holds the power to connect communities like nothing else.
Now is the time to plan, sow and grow your food for the year ahead. In this one hour webinar we will be discussing the practicalities and social benefits of community food growing with our panel of three growing experts. They will explain their experience, share the effects of their projects on their community and give their advice on making new connections.
Who's on the panel?
Matt Willer – RHS School Gardening Champion 2018 and founder of The Papillion Project. Matt will be talking about his educational charity, working with secondary schools and sixth-form colleges in Norfolk and the environmental impact of community growing.
Alison Findley – RHS Community Outreach Officer. Alison will share her experience of working with communities in the East of England and give her advice on setting up a community food garden.
Sharon McMaster – School Gardening Champion 2016 and founder of Kindergarden Cooks. Sharon will explain the benefits of growing and cooking food with young people, connecting with nature, understanding nutrition and introduce us to her school-grown cooking club.
