About this event
Our women’s circles are a welcoming space to slow down, breathe, and connect. Each gathering is designed to support your wellbeing, help you feel seen and heard, and remind you that you don’t have to journey through life alone.
Thanks to year-long funding from the Greenwich Healthier Communities programme, all places are free of charge. This project gives us the opportunity to reach more women, especially those who may have never joined a circle before, who feel isolated or disconnected, or who are looking for a safe space to belong.
At Gaia, our mission is to challenge the status quo in health. We believe wellbeing should be inclusive and accessible, and our vision is that one day sharing circles will be recognised as a vital part of community health and prescribed through the NHS.
What to expect:
- Gentle facilitation by Kika Degani, Gaia's co-founder
- Time for open sharing and deep listening
- Simple grounding practices such as breathwork, journaling, or reflection exercises
- Connection, community, and a sense of belonging
- Once a month, a guest facilitator offering a new practice (movement, sound, creativity, mindfulness, and more)
- Tea, coffee, and light snacks provided, plus a 10-minute break between shares to enjoy a warm drink. Feel free to bring something more substantial if you’d like
- Maximum 10 people per circle
Who we welcome
The focus of these circles is on people who have been socialised as, or currently identify as women, creating a space to share and explore those unique experiences. We welcome anyone who identifies as a woman, as well as female-bodied non-binary people and trans women who feel drawn to this space. We honour the diverse lived experiences of women, and those socialised as women, and warmly welcome all who carry those identities.
If you’re new
If you’re uncertain about joining for the first time, I’m happy to take some time to chat with you beforehand and answer any questions. Please reach out by e.mail (kikadegani@gmail.com) and we can arrange a time to chat - you don’t have to step into the circle alone.
Timing & Boundaries
Doors open at 5.20pm and we begin promptly at 5.30pm. To protect the safety and intimacy of the container, no late arrivals are admitted after 5.45pm. Please arrive on time to honour the group.
Venue & Accessibility
Our circles are held at Plot 9 Maze Hill. We sit in circle outdoors in a covered space, gathered around the fire. Please dress warmly and comfortably. The venue is not (yet) step-free, so if you have accessibility needs, let us know in advance so we can advise and support you.
Circle Agreements
Before joining, we kindly ask that you take a few minutes to read through our Circle Agreements. These agreements help create a safe, supportive, and respectful space for everyone. We will also read them aloud at the start of each session, but familiarising yourself in advance will help you arrive ready to step into the circle with care and presence.
Supporting the circles
While places are fully funded, we welcome voluntary donations from those who feel called to give. Every contribution helps us sustain our vision, keep the circles thriving, and create more projects that benefit the wider community.
The circle is open. Come as you are!
