PERFORM ‘WALLIAMS-IN-10’ WITH SHAKESPEARE SCHOOLS FOUNDATION

FREE WORKSHOPS FOR KS2 DRAMA, LITERACY AND ENGLISH TEACHERS

Shakespeare Schools Foundation and HarperCollins Children’s Books have teamed up to offer FREE CPD Literacy and Drama workshops focused on one of David Walliams’ critically acclaimed novels – Gangsta Granny.

These two-day CPD workshops will excite and engage KS2 English and drama classrooms, and empower teachers to create unique dramatic interpretations of this bestselling Walliams text.

Teachers will examine plot, character, language and setting to lift text off the page and create dynamic, kinaesthetic learning opportunities. You will look at how to embed the exercises in a scheme of work, supporting teaching in Literacy, English, Drama, and across the curriculum, as well as teachers’ own professional development.

Limited spaces on these two-day workshops are available. Spaces are free and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To secure your place please register your details and select your preferred workshop.

Additional details:

Delegates should bring a pen and notepad and wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Tea and coffee will be provided, but you should bring your own packed lunch. Forty delegates per location will be selected on a first come first served basis.

WIN A VISIT FROM DAVID WALLIAMS

As part of this exciting CPD opportunity HarperCollins Children’s Books is giving one lucky school the chance to win a David Walliams book bundle for their library – hand-delivered by David Walliams himself!

To win, teachers are invited to submit a ten-minute film of their class performing a popular David Walliams text. Teachers can select any one of David’s popular stories to perform and should use the skills and resources gained from CPD workshops to create a dramatic interpretation with their class.

Further details about the competition will be provided at the CPD workshops!
