About this event

The Transport Planning Society is pleased to announce that we are hosting a talk by internationally renowned public transport planner Jarrett Walker, who has 34 years experience designing transit networks and policies for a huge range of communities across North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. His recent projects include the proposed bus network redesigns for Dublin, now being complemented, and for all of the Irish Republic's other major cities. He was also a co-author of an important new guide on how to consider bus services in town planning, for Ireland's National Transport Authority.

He has devoted much of his career to explaining public transport concepts. He is the author of the popular book Human Transit, and has written hundreds of useful articles for major publications and at his blog HumanTransit.org. His goal is to start conversations about how transit works, and how we can use it to create better cities and towns.

He is also the author of the popular book Human Transit, first published in 2011 and now in a Revised Edition of 2024.
