Description

This free conference, produced by the Humber Museums Partnership and supported by Arts Council England, will explore how Under 5s and families engage with cultural environments and what the sector can do to develop and improve its offer.

Aimed at all those working with Under 5s either within museums, galleries and other cultural and heritage organisations or early years settings, this diverse and inspiring programme will feature key-note speakers, research presentation, panel discussions, case studies from Under 5s specialists and a range of practical workshops.

Freedom to Explore will focus on three core themes and delegates will be able to select from a number of sessions offered within each theme:

  • How Under 5s Experience Cultural Spaces

- Understanding development and learning in early years

- How do Under 5s experience museums and cultural venues?

- Developing inspiring spaces for Under 5s on a budget

  • Delivering Cultural Programming for Early Years and Families

- Interpreting museum & art collections for Under 5s and families

- Working with Artists and Under 5s

- Delivering sustainable Under 5s creative programmes

  • Reaching Out to Under 5s and Family Audiences

- Improving access for families with children under 5

- Delivering on social impact agendas

- Reaching out to Under 5s audiences – marketing and partnerships
