Description

Ladies,

We are back! And hosting a special Vestpod event on Friday, October 25th at one of our favourite places: Huckletree East in Shoreditch.

What to expect? A kick-ass panel of women discussing “Freelancers, Side-Hustlers: Managing Money, getting Paid”, followed by a Q&A and then breakfast.

How to manage my money as a freelancer? Yes it’s a challenge, but we will look at all the practicalities, including strategies around organising and automating your finances for the short to long-term as well as the best ways to set your rates and get paid on time.

Get your ticket and join us (£10 or £20 with a signed copy of my book You’Re Not Broke, You’Re Pre-Rich)!

This discussion will be a positive discussion about women and money; I am hoping we will talk about:

  • How can I prepare a financial plan to help me make the transition from full-time employee to freelancer?

  • How to organise my finances and prepare a budget?

  • Practical tips on how to save

  • Think about the long term: do I need a pension and how to get started?

  • What are my challengers as a freelancers? Taxes? Bookkeeping?

  • Negotiate my rates. Getting paid on time.

  • How to build extra streams of income / start side-hustles?

  • What are the apps and key resources?

...and much more. Feel free to send me your questions!

No question is stupid or taboo so expect an empowering debate and prepare your questions for our pannellists. This event is for all levels and genders. We’ll kill the jargon and make it relevant for all. We are not financial advisers - this is purely an educational session!

Friday 25th October at 8:00am at Huckletree East (18 Finsbury Square, Alphabeta Building, London EC2A 1AH)

8h00: Attendees arrive, networking, coffee & pastries

8h30-9h30: Panel discussion with Abiola, Anna and Sapphire, followed by Q&A

9h30-10h00: Coffee & networking

Looking forward to it!

xx

I am the founder and CEO of Vestpod. Formerly working in private equity, I launched Vestpod to change the conversation about money and empower women financially. I started my career at Lehman Brothers where I worked as an analyst in private equity merchant banking. Reflecting on my years working in finance, I realized I was not saving or investing enough and could not find the support to do so. I then decided to launch Vestpod for women - as a way to provide education and a community for women to start breaking the taboo around money. Vestpod is a digital platform with a popular weekly newsletter as well as personal finance workshops and networking events. You can find Vestpod at: http://www.vestpod.com/

About my first book: You'Re Not Broke, You'Re Pre-Rich. Never go out the week before payday? Have less than £1,000 saved? Does this sound all too familiar? If so, it's time to take back control of your bank balance. One out of three millennials today will never be able to buy their own house. Does it have to be like this? You're Not Broke You're Pre-Rich will tell you that it really doesn't; you can have your avocado on toast and stop renting and start saving too.

This essential handbook will help debunk the financial jargon and break the money taboo. Packed with actionable tips and no-nonsense practical advice, You're Not Broke You're Pre-Rich will teach you how to make your savings work for you, how you could invest your money, why you need to understand your pension and why your financial health is just as important as your mental and physical health.
