Rock painting:

Provided for you and your group will be:

• Rocks
• Acrylic paints and paint pens
• Pencils, erasers
• Guidance and tuition if needed

Reference library available

Air Dry Clay!

Create your own masterpiece from air drying clay. Allow to dry over a few days and return to collect or paint.

You can also take it home and dry your creation there provided you bring your own sturdy container to carry it and prevent damage.

Polymer Clay!

Create your own little model for decoration or even a keyring. If your creation is completed in time, we bake it for you (this takes 30 minutes).

Alternatively, you can leave it with us to bake and collect at next workshop or you can take it home with instructions on how to bake it yourself.

B.Y.O. Activity

Do you have an activity that you are undertaking at home or school and would like to bring it to the workshop to carry out more work on?

Examples includes:

• Your journal
• A canvas you'd like to paint on
• A piece of slate you'd like to decorate

Bring it with you to work on and use our resources to help you complete or carry on working on it in the company of others

What's changing in 2026?

From February 2026, the following changes include:

• A change in times. We're going from 5.30pm - 7.30pm and changing to 5.30pm - 7pm
• Regular themed workshop. The resources you use will be your choice but we hope to bring you a new, exciting theme per month to help with your inspiration.
• Costs. Sustainability to key for Taff Rocks and, whilst the times will be reduced by 30 minutes for these events, the costs will remain at £3.50. This will help us meet the rising costs of resources and utility costs.

From February 2026, additional, regular monthly workshops are due to land in our diary. Watch this space.

Children in school year 7 and under:

Can attend without an adult - conditions apply.

This form must be completed prior to attending. Can also be completed by an adult on the day.

Cancellations:

• Life happens, and we know this … So, please take the time to cancel your booking / reservation / ticket online. This will allow the space to become free for someone else.
• Please give at least 48 hours notice - where reasonably possible. However, we appreciate that 'life happens' and this may not be possible. If this is the case, please cancel as soon as you are able to.

Refreshments:

We offer refreshments of tea, coffee and squash.

All we ask is you consider making a contribution towards these costs - cash only - into the "honesty box" of 50p per cup.

We will then be able to replenish the supplies for you.

How your contributions help:

1. Enables Taff Rocks to replace resources used
2. Pay venue costs
3. Helps to build and strengthen the communities we serve
4. Helps others to take part in activities further afield in the County Borough

Taff Rocks is run by volunteers so does not have staffing costs but reimburses volunteers for out of pocket

Ticket types:

To help prevent oversubscription, we are now asking that non-participating individuals, anyone bringing buggies or wheelchairs for a non-participant, book in also.

Smyrna is a small space, we try to accomodate as many as possible.

Reservation options:

There's no need to make reservations any longer. But if you want to be reminded, make one but, if you change your mind, please cancel it before the event. If you are bringing a non-participant with you, then you'd need to book yourself in as well as the non-participant

• If you are bringing a non-participating support worker or carer, please remember that they need booking in too. Smyrna has a limited capacity. This is free.
• To ensure sufficient space, we are asking you to book in if you are bringing a baby in a buggy. This is free but buggies take up one person space. Due to limited space, we must ensure that Smyrna is not overbooked.
