Event description

Description

'Fast, Green & Free Deliveries: Overcoming the Last-Mile Challenge in Urban Transport'

This is a joint symposium put together by the Freight Traffic Control project (www.ftc2050.com) and ITS (UK).

The event will involve industry, local authority and academic speakers along with a networking poster session covering four linked themes:

1) Customer behaviour and current Last-mile operating patterns

2) The future of the last-mile from the operators perspective

3) New systems to help address the last-mile

4) Infrastructure and policy needs for the last-mile.

The day is designed to inform on the current challenges facing the last-mile logistics sector, the range of innovative approaches being used by companies to address these, and the ways in which regulatory and land-use policies towards freight might be re-visited to improve service and reduce environmental impacts.
