How can you make 2018 your best year yet? Come on this Fresh Air Business Walk led by Sonja and Sharon of Valuable Content and select 3 meaningful words to shape your business actions for the year ahead.
New Year resolutions rarely survive the first couple of weeks of January. Instead, uncover 3 powerful words to guide your decision making for the year, inspiring you to happy, long lasting success.
This exercise, devised by Chris Brogan (http://chrisbrogan.com/about-2/), is deceptively simple but its effects are truly profound. The 3 words you choose will act as helpful signposts, encouraging you on the path to a fantastic year ahead.
Over the past few years this exercise has transformed the way we think about our own business, guiding our decision making and building adventures into our business life. We'd love to help you find your 3 words and kickstart the magic for you!
A SIMPLE EXERCISE TO SET YOUR DIRECTION FOR 2018
We will workshop the '3 Words' exercise over a 12km loop around the Mendips - over hills, through wooded valleys - a landscape filled with cultural history, and offering inspiring views across Somerset and the Bristol Channel.
This walk will be great fun and also add huge business value. Walking, talking and thinking in the company of a small group like-minded business leaders helps sharpen your perspective and strengthen your resolve. Take a step outside your business and make this the year of real change.
STEP OUTSIDE TO FIND YOUR FOCUS
We will stop off for lunch (at additional personal expense) at a fabulous country pub. It will be a great way to kick off your year.
Fresh Air Business Walking is a pay-per-walk programme for business leaders and their guests seeking fresh air, fresh perspectives, and fresh conversations.
It's an opportunity to relax and draw energy and inspiration from stunning natural environments; a powerful alternative to indoor meetings; a more creative and engaging form of networking; and an opportunity to share and resolve major work challenges.
Where is the start/finish point? Where can I park? What about toilets?
We will start the walk at 10:30 from outside the Burrington Inn, Burrington Combe, North Somerset, BS40 7AT. You can use the Inn car park (on the understanding the Inn will benefit from your custom), or the free car parks either side of this. There is a pubic toilet in the southern car park (in addition to the Burrington Inn).
We will be back betwen 15:30 - 16:00.
Who is leading this event?
DAVE STEWART, Managing Director of The Fresh Air Learning Company will lead the walk. In addition to being a highly experienced business leader and coach, he is also a qualified Mountain Leader. Read more about Dave here.

How fit do I need to be? How far are we walking?
- The route is undulating with a couple of short inclines. Well defined paths throughout. There will be muddy patches.
- The total distance is 12kms with 300m of ascent.
- We will be walking at a pace which allows people to talk comfortably, and we will be making regular stops.
- If you are in any doubt about your ability to undertake this walk, consult your GP and the organisers.
What clothing & equipment will I need?
- Walking boots or sturdy footwear with good grip, and ideally ankle support.
- Waterproof over-trousers and water-proof jacket.
- A spare warm layer for stops.
- Warm headgear and gloves. Waterproof gloves ideally.
- Your own snacks and fluids (1.0 litres min. We can top up at the lunchtime pub). Bring a flask of something warm too. It could be a cold day :)
- Notebook and pen (inside a plastic bag).
- Personal medication as required.
- Small rucksack with waterproof bags to keep contents dry.
What about bad weather?
The walk will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather. The route may be modified to make the best of conditions. Your leaders are highly qualified and experienced and will ensure everyone has a safe walk.
