Fresh Start Festival: Poetry Workshop

Creativity has been proven to enhance our wellbeing. Poet Beth Calverley designs immersive poetry experiences to inspire and uplift people in all kinds of places, from universities to hospitals to festivals.

Poetry can help us to take notice of the world around us. Join Beth for a relaxed session on Zoom, where she will guide us through some steps to write individually and collectively.

We invite you to bring an object or a photograph of something that you have noticed recently. This could be collected on a walk, caught through the window or found in your house. We will be using these treasures as starting points to inspire our writing.

Apart from that, all you’ll need is a pen and paper (or something else to write/record your words). Please also download the Zoom app prior to the session. We will send you a Zoom invite link once you’ve signed up.
