Hope - Lose Hill - Back Tor - Hollins Cross - Mam Tor - Upper Booth - Edale (approx 7 miles)
GRADE: EASY / MODERATE (HALF DAY)
Welcome to Freshwalks, bringing together North West business folk in the majestic setting of the Peak District. This time, we are walking from Hope to Edale - a classic ridge route with stunning views, designed to include as many people as possible.
Our plan is to reinvigorate both body and soul, allowing participants to make new contacts, to share personal and business challenges and gain some fresh perspective. All within a magnificent setting that will allow clear thinking and new ideas to flourish.
We intend to leave Hope train station at 09:40. Beforehand, we'll be in Carluccio's (upstairs Manchester Piccadilly train station) having breakfast from 08:00 onwards before catching the 08:49 train to Hope. Please feel free to join us at either location. But DO be on time! If you wish to drive, the recommended approach would be to drive to Edale, park up, and hop on our train to Hope at 09:33. Might be easier than attempting the return journey later in the day.
Don't forget, you will need to bring a good supply of water and perhaps a couple of snacks for this half-day ridge walk.
We expect to be back in Edale just after lunchtime where we will head to the Old Nag's Head which is a fair-sized pub and should be fine to accommodate our group for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat.

What should I wear?
You will need to wear proper walking boots, bring along some waterproofs and a couple of layers to cater for unpredictable weather conditions. A spare pair of socks is also quite useful.
I'm a little unfit, should I come along?
By some distance our shortest walk to date, this route has been designed to include as many of you as possible. However, I'd still suggest you need to have some level of fitness for the ascent up Lose Hill. If you haven't done any form of exercise recently, this might be an initial step too far and we'd recommend at least some distance (5km plus) walking on the level as preparation. Our schedule does allow for a number of 'breather' stops so plenty of time for catching up and to keep the group together.
