Freshwater Wildlife of the Pocklington Canal

Did you know that the clear waters of the Pocklington Canal are in actual fact teeming with microscopic wildlife?
On this workshop you'll join Geoff Oxford from the University of York to take samples from the Pocklington Canal, then we'll head to the University of York to take a closer look at the weird and wonderful range of wildlife (invertebrates) that can be found in the water of the Pocklington Canal.
You'll learn how to use binocular microscopes and keys to identify your findings, and you will get an overview of the various groups of invertebrates during a brief presentation.
