Description

Future for Religious Heritage is delighted to announce its sixth biennial international conference from the 11th to the 13th of October 2018 in Paris, France. Once again, it will bring together those committed to save and promote religious heritage across Europe (and beyond).

Europe’s religious heritage is facing unprecedented threats due to changing patterns of society, worship and population. Much is being done to adapt to a world that is increasingly secular, pluri-religious and global. However, despite extensive popular support, many religious buildings and their contents suffer from neglect, abandonment or destruction. A real debate on the future of Europe’s religious heritage – a lasting legacy for EYCH 2018 – is essential.

This year's conference, titled: ‘Religious Heritage: Europe's Legacy for the Future", will bring experts together in discussing:

- Cultural community, economic and environmental importance of Europe’s religious heritage
- Role of NGOs in conservation, management, re-use and promotion of places of worship
- Examples of good practices throughout Europe
- Measures for European institutions, national governments and politicians

The conference venue is the UNESCO headquarters (Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris)
Please check the FRH conference website page for additional information.

*Important note: a special conference fee of 50 euros is applied for students. This student package includes attandence to the exclusive evening concert at Notre Dame on Wednesday 10 October and two full conference days, including lunch on Thursday 11 October.
