FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL: Chichester Trip

We will be taking a day trip to Chichester, where we will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful ancient town. Chichester is a cathedral city in West Sussex, and it has a long history as a settlement from Roman times and was important in Anglo-Saxon times. We will have a guided tour of the cathedral, as well as a chance to look round the town, and walk the city walls.

We will be travelling to Chichester by train and you can meet others at Southampton Central Station or Winchester Station, the travel details are as follows:

Southampton Central Station – meet at 9am Platform 4 entrance (opposite Toys ‘R’ Us) for the 9.32am train to Chichester (the next train is 40 minutes later so please be on time). The train fare is £14 return per person (but is reduced by a third if travelling in groups of 3 or more or if you have railcard, we will organise groups on the day).

Winchester Station – please catch the 9.19am train, and then change trains at Fareham (get down at Fareham at approximately 9.46am, and then join the train to Chichester at 9.56am) to join the same train as the group from Southampton. The train fare is £17.60 return per person (but is reduced by one third if travelling in groups of 3 or more or if you have railcard).

When we arrive in Chichester we will have a Cathedral Tour, there is a small charge of £3 per person for this, and then walk some of the old town walls after this. We will complete our group visit at around 1pm and you are then free to have lunch and spend more time exploring the town, there is a small museum to visit and there are shops to browse in. You can then return on the train when you are ready, please note that if you have a group discount ticket you will need to travel home with the others in your group. The train journey home to Southampton takes approx. 1 hour and to Winchester between 1 hour and 1 hour 20 minutes depending on the time of travel.

Who is this event for?: This trip is for currently enrolled Southampton University, Solent University or Winchester University students, postgraduates or scholars, and their spouses/familes, organised by Friends International in Southampton. How to Cancel an Order on Eventbrite: If you book a ticket and then find you are unable to attend, please cancel your tickets in good time (at least a day in advance). If you don't already have an eventrbite account, then you will need to create one by using the link near the bottom of your booking email under "Your Account" and click log in to set up your own password and create an account. When you have logged in to Eventbrite, go to the "Tickets" page, and find your order. Click your order to view order details, and then select “Cancel Order” to cancel your registration.
