The band is a project of "Sage" (who wears a frog mask) and is also known as Froglord, with other musicians joining him in live performances. The music and narrative explore themes of environmental destruction and the consequences of human actions, with Froglord acting as a guardian of the natural world.

COMMONER are a 3-piece Doom, Psych, crust, D-Beat band of Angry Peasants that bow to no god, lord or gentry, hailing from Norwich/London, UK. The band formed in 2021 and their unique brand of heavinesst fuses Heavy Doom grooves, Psych riffs and ambient soundscapes with hard hitting anger risen from spirits of the downtrodden, bursts of crushing D-beat grooves add to the doomy soundscapes, a fitting support to the Froglord.
