About this event

In this illustrated talk, Merton Heritage Officer, Sarah Gould, covers the colourful history of Wimbledon Palais, from its origins as an early roller-skating rink, to its role in First World War military production and its peacetime use as a dance and music venue.

From Joe Loss and the Ted Heath Big Band, to the Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Who - an amazing range of performers graced the Palais stage.
