About our Speakers and Their Talks

🟢 Kimberley Bottomley - Product Design Manager at B&Q

💬 Talk: From Coaching to UX: Designing Change That Sticks

➡️ What do great coaches and great user experience designers have in common? More than you might think. In this talk, we’ll explore

💡 How the principles of coaching mirror the stages of effective UX design.

💡 We’ll look at how teams build trust and alignment, how they keep the end in mind, how they face into reality, and how they spot opportunities.

💡 Finally, we’ll consider the importance of reflection and closure - because good endings matter just as much as strong beginnings.

Whether you’re leading a design team, working with stakeholders, or facilitating change, you’ll leave with practical insights on how coaching mindsets can strengthen the way you design, collaborate, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

About Kimberley Bottomley: Kimberley has spent nearly two decades shaping the world of UX, Product Design, and Research. From helping to establish one of the UK's first in-house user research labs, to creating pioneering mobile guidelines for a leading insurer, to designing the end-to-end customer experience of a smart home device - before "Alexa" became a household name - she’s been at the forefront of innovation. An award-winning team leader, Kimberley is known for her passion for people, creative problem-solving, and sprinkling a bit of hippy wisdom into her work.
