We love heritage homes for their character and charm. But we know only too well how draughty, damp and cold they can be! Sarah and Andrew found they couldn't even get their kids into the bathroom it was so cold. Happily, help was at hand from the retrofit experts at Shrewsbury charity Marches Energy Agency.
An expert assessment of their home recommended internal wall insulation, solid floor insulation, improvements to the bathroom and a new air source heat pump. Enjoy a fascinating tour of this ordinary home which has been brought into the 21st century with sustainable materials and a very clever heating system.
There will be two guided tours: 10-11:30am and 11:30am-1pm.
