Reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions will require significant lifestyle changes – often on the emotive issues of diet and travel. Yet, as the ongoing controversies over cycle lanes and low traffic neighbourhoods have shown, sudden change can result in acrimony and polarisation. To successfully transition to net zero, policy makers and campaigners will have to bring people with them. But how can this be achieved?

Drawing upon social and behavioural science, this session will look at how climate leaders can build trust and engagement with communities. We will cover the kinds of arguments to make as well as the way information can be framed and delivered so that audiences are more likely to support and engage with decarbonisation schemes.

This will be a lively, interactive session that will benefit all those involved in rolling-out climate change and sustainability initiatives – from activists to policy makers, and academics to concerned citizens.

The session will be delivered by Three Point Five. They are a climate change training company who work with public and private sector bodies to build the culture change needed to reach net zero.
