From Gaza to the Claypits: Ecology, Conservation, and Connecting Landscapes
Overview
Join us to explore the connections between two very different landscapes, Glasgow’s Hamiltonhill Claypits Local Nature Reserve and the ecological systems of Gaza, with a focus on Wadi Gaza as a case study. Through a guided walk and talk followed by an indoor reflective session, the event will highlight how conservation practice, biodiversity, and people’s access to greenspace vary across contexts shaped by climate, conflict, and community resilience. Participants will gain insights into environmental stewardship under challenging conditions, and how nature remains a shared space of hope and restoration.
