Event description

Description

Cyber threats are a growing concern in the UK. From January-October 2014, 17% of all advanced persistent attacks (APT) detected in EMEA were targeted at the UK. On an individual basis, online identity theft rose by 31% in the first three months of 2015, compared to the same period in 2014.

Join us at this timely fringe, in association with Raytheon, as the panel explores the UK’s level of preparation for potential attacks on our critical national infrastructure, our control systems and our supply chain. It will provide insight into whether the government and British public are on the right track to combatting the problem, or whether more needs to be done to equip ourselves in the fight against cyber threats.

Speakers:

Ben Wallace MP - Minister of State (Home Office) (Security)

Baroness Shields MP* (Invited) - UK Minister for Internet Safety & Security and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Department for Culture, Media and Sport)

Josh Hardie - Deputy Director General for Policy and Campaigns, CBI
