From Page to Polygon: Digitally Reimagining Artists’ Books
Overview
This event is part of the University of Southampton Winchester School of Art's Into the Fold event for 2026. Join Grant Cox from the Digital Scholarship Team at University of Southampton's Library Service on Page to Polygon: Digitally Reimagining Artists’ Books.
This presentation shares progress from an ongoing CGI project focusing on artists’ books from the Winchester School of Art Library. Using 3D modelling and animation, selected works have been translated from their physical form into digital space.
This talk discusses the technical process of this translation, exploring how intention, materiality, and narrative are interpreted through modelling, texturing, and animation. It reflects on experimentation, problem-solving, and iterative decision-making, positioning digital tools as an active part of an evolving creative practice.
Join us for this 30 minute session and get the opportunity to engage with an ongoing Digital Scholarship project.
