Inaugural lecture by Saseedran Pallikadavath, Professor of Demography and Global Health, University of Portsmouth

Professor Pallikadavath will examine population control programmes from 1950 and its implications on fertility in low- and middle-income countries; how family planning programmes have changed, and the recent shift in focus to population health. Global challenges in population and health within the context of migration and non-communicable diseases will also be discussed. The lecture outlines future population and health research agendas and the role of Portsmouth-Brawijaya Centre for Global Health, Population and Policy.
