From Residential to Commercial Conveyancing: A Crossover Masterclass

Many residential conveyancers find they are being asked to deal with small commercial property transactions by their clients, but there are important differences. This course will look at the key differences and also give you sources of further guidance and precedents.
What is different with commercial property:
The commercial conditions, VAT, SDLT, capital allowances, registration of charges at Companies House.
Planning points, changes of use, permitted development, highways, infrastructure, constraints.
Dealing with the high street commercial lease - key points to look out for:
Break clauses, repairing obligations, schedules of condition, lease assignments, AGA’s, definition of the premises, security of tenure, service charges.
Speaker: Hannah Mackinlay LLB MA (Environmental Law), is a solicitor with wide experience of residential and commercial property gained at senior and partner level at major firms. As well as acting for major landowners, local authorities, development agencies, national house builders, banks, building societies and PLCs,she has also dealt with rank and file high street commercial leases and small developers.
