In response to the national crisis facing archaeological archives, the Museum of Gloucester has collaborated with Cotswold Archaeology to deliver the NLHF funded project From Store to Store: Uncovering Gloucester's Archaeological Treasures.

A former pharmacy has been transformed into a city centre based Discovery Centre where a team of volunteers have been working to review and rationalise the archaeology collection all while encouraging local residents to get involved. Boxes from the 1960's onwards are being opened for the first time and will be repacked so they meet current standards. This project covers collections management, disposals, volunteering, engagement and participant, fundraising and collaborative working.

The event will include a presentation by Elizabeth Johansson-Hartley, Collections Officer at the Museum of Gloucester and Beth Moreing, Archives Supervisor at Cotswold Archaeology, plus tours of the Museum stores and Discovery Centre.
