Event description

Description

Starting at the Modernist East Finchley station, this walk travels back in time looking at inter-war architectural styles on the North side of Hampstead Garden Suburb finishing with arts and crafts cottages. As well as looking at the architecture we discuss some of the people that the street names commemorate, many of whom relate to the Christian Socialist co-partnership and the early Garden City Movement

Starts outside the main entrance to East Finchley Station and finishes at Market Place (Cafe Toulouse) on the A1 ( a short bus ride from East Finchley or Golders Green)

With this walk you will get an insider’s walk of Hampstead Garden Suburb with a guide who not only is involved in local organisations but has been brought up and educated in the area.

You can check travel options at the Transport for London Journey Planner.
