From the Metrocentre to the Hikey Bridge: escape into nature
Overview
Join Kath, a trained walk leader with the Ramblers on a Tyne Derwent Way wellbeing walk from the Metrocentre to the Hikey Bridge in Swalwell and back. This 3.5 mile long walk is on a very easy and accessible path, leading us to the little known Hikey Bridge and Swalwell Railway viaduct. Expect the same fun facts and historical information that Kath offers on all her walks for the Tyne Derwent Way.
East access by bus, rail and car - meet outside the Angel statue on the ground floor of the Blue Mall between Pizza Hut and Go Outdoors. The walk will also end here. What three words is mild.rate.outfit
Suitable for anyone who is comfortable for walking up to 4 miles/being on your feet for 2 hours - or travelling the equivalent distance and time in your wheelchair.
New offer - have a cuppa afterwards!
Petite Delice in the Metrocentre village have offered anyone joining 10% off on production of their eventbrite ticket. Why not head there for a cuppa after the walk?
We're delighted to say the Petite Delice
Cancellations:
We know that sometimes plans change and understand that you might register and then no longer be able to come. If that is the case, could you please let us know by emailing us or cancelling your ticket on Eventbrite? Kath is a volunteer so her time is precious, as are the limited places on her walks. Thank you.
