About this event

  • Paid venue parking

The town of Frome in Somerset grew up on the banks of the river of the same name during the time of the Anglo-Saxons. The river shaped the town and the industry and developement of the town shaped the river. This guided walk will be led by historian and storyteller Lisa Kenwright who will share the history and folklore of the river and the surrounding area, including some of the mills of the town's famous cloth industry.

This will be a gentle walk along mostly level pavement and hard pathway along the river from outside the Cheese & Grain in Market yard to Wallbridge, near the site of the former Tucker's Mill. The content is suitable for all to hear but is aimed at ages 12 and above. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
