The walk
Listen out for the echoes of the past while we walk through today’s river valley. We will explore the ancient history of the rocks that make up this beautiful rewilded valley, and place them in the context of the human history of the Snuff Mills area, its industry and inhabitants of old.
This walk is slow paced giving you a chance to breathe and pause in a beautiful wild part of the city. We share optional creative mindful writing exercises to help connect with the rocks and themes of the walk - completely up to you if you want to join in.
If we're lucky we might also spot some of the Frome's wonderful birdlife - the zippy kingfisher and the elusive dipper!

Steps in Stone
Steps in Stone runs regular geology and history walks in the city of Bristol. These tours provide a deep time perspective, revealing how millennia of human involvement with the local landscape and geology have shaped the city.
The walks are open to all and require no prior knowledge of the city or geology.
