About this event
Are you 12–18 and living in Frome?
Worried about climate change?
Want to do something about it?
Then this is for you.
The Frome Youth Climate Action Group launched this summer — and we’re looking for young people who care about nature, the planet, and making a difference.
Over four sessions we've had 15 young people attend different workshops and activities. We are really excited about the plans that our members are making and we are always open to more people who care and want to make a difference.
What have we been doing?
Over the summer holidays we did a litter pick, saving the litter and junk for a public art project to be created this Autumn in Frome. We also did a visit to Heal Rewilding in Witham Friary, did a reptile survey and learned about more activities that we can take part in throughout the year.
Fifth meeting: Names, plans and choose an artist!
At this meeting we will be
- deciding on a better name for the group
- making plans for the autumn term - litter picks, art making, campaigning and more nature activities at Heal Rewilding.
- exploring the work of several artists and decide which one(s) we'd like to approach to help facilitate us make something amazing out of rubbish!
Please note, this session will take place at The Edventure Hub, home to Edventure and Green and Healthy Frome. We will be in the Remakery - a space that we could use for our art / building project.
Please sign up so we know you are coming. Thanks!

This project is supported by Green and Healthy Frome and led by artist and climate actionist Chris Redmond — who works with scientists, artists, farmers, diplomats and campaigners around the globe to turn big challenges into real change.
It is organised by Edventure's Future Shed as part of Green & Healthy Frome, a partnership between Edventure Frome, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council.
Why bother?
Because you’re not alone.
75% of young people in the UK say they’re worried about climate change. It can feel huge and scary — like there’s nothing you can do.
But here’s the truth:You can do a lot.And you don’t have to do it alone.
Small actions, done together, make a big difference. And when you see other people — across Frome and around the world — doing their bit too, it feels powerful.
Please complete this order as the young person who will be participating, not the parent or carer.
We ask you to answer questions in the order form about the parent / carer contact details. Thank you!
More information if you need it!
The Frome Youth Climate Action Group is a new initiative supporting a team of 12–18-year-olds in Frome to lead climate action in their own way. This core group will design and deliver activities, campaigns or events that engage other young people — building a movement of youth-led climate energy across the town.
Aims & Benefits
This project is about action, not overwhelm. It gives young people space to shape change on their terms — to imagine, organise, and make things happen. Our aim is to:
- Offer real-life opportunities to learn, collaborate and gain volunteer experience
- Centre young voices and ideas in Frome’s climate conversation
- Spark positive momentum and hope-led action
- Enable peer-to-peer learning and engagement
- Strengthen intergenerational connections and shared learning
- Build on the energy already alive in Frome’s schools and youth groups
- Create a structure that supports long-term youth participation
The benefits ripple out — not just for the environment, but for health, confidence, community connection and a sense of purpose.
Who Is It For?
The project is for young people aged 12–18 who live in or around Frome — including those in school, home education, or youth organisations. Whether someone’s passionate about the climate, curious to try something new, interested in campaigning, creativity, growing, making, or helping others — they’re welcome.
This is also for educators and youth group leaders who want to support young people in developing their own climate responses and leadership.
How Can People Get Involved?
Initially, we're looking to form a core group of Youth Climate Action Allies. They’ll meet regularly outside school hours, decide together how to use a dedicated activity fund, and shape ways to bring other young people along. It could look like workshops, campaigns, creative projects, trips or climate meetups — it’s up to the group.
Young people don’t need experience — just an interest in climate action and a willingness to take part.
