Frontier AI Safety & Policy Panel: Where We're At & Where We're Headed – Perspectives from the UK

It's been around a year since chatbots became widespread and governments worldwide turned their attention to advanced AI safety and governance. In this event co-hosted by MIT CSAIL Alliances, the MIT-UK program and the UK government’s AI Safety Institute, we will discuss the current state of research and where we're headed. Questions to be answered include: How will we control and govern AI agents?

The event will be held at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory’s (CSAIL) Stata Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Wednesday, 30 October from 16:00-18:00 (EDT).

Our panel includes:

• Kwamina Orleans-Pobee, Head of Engineering at the UK government's AI Safety Institute

• Hima Lakkaraju, Associate Professor at Harvard HBS

• Dylan Hadfield-Menell, Assistant Professor, MIT EECS

• Joseph Enguehard, LLM Research Engineer at Robin AI

• Vishal Sharma, Associate Professor at Queen’s University Belfast

There will be an opportunity to network at the end of the event when light refreshments will be served.
