Event description

Description

Discover the extraordinary evolutionary story of dinosaurs: where they came from, how they rose to dominance, how some became huge and others turned into birds, and how the rest of them went extinct. This story will be told by three of the world's leading dinosaur researchers.

Xu Xing (IVPP Beijing, China) is the chief discoverer of the Chinese treasure trove of feathered dinosaurs which has revolutionised our understanding of dinosaur palaeobiology and the evolutionary origin of birds. Steve Brusatte (Edinburgh University) is resident palaeontologist for the BBC’s Walking With Dinosaurs, and has written several books on dinosaur palaeobiology, including the critically acclaimed The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs. Bhart-Anjan Bhullar (Yale University, USA) is a developmental biologist who searches for dinosaurs in the embryology of their descendents, the living birds.

Steve Brusatte will be available for a book-signing before and after the event.

These talks are part of the 62nd annual conference of the Palaeontological Association which is this year hosted by @BristolPalaeo @UoBEarthScience and the University of Bristol. The event is very generously supported by the publisher John Wiley & Sons.

Conference delegates do not need to register for this event via Eventbrite.
