Frontline Network Event: Death on the Frontline
Event Information
Description
January's Frontline Network Event, co-planned with colleagues from Martlets Hospice and the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, will help us explore death as frontline workers but more importantly as human beings.
This event will give us space to have conversations with other frontline workers – facilitated sensitively by people with experience in talking about death.
Following the recent national headlines highlighting 449 homeless deaths in the last year, it is likely that many of those individuals who have died had frontline workers who knew them and were doing their best to help them.
So, although this is a difficult topic – and still very much a taboo subject in the UK - we feel it is something we should be talking about as frontline workers in Brighton & Hove.
We hope this event can start the conversation which we hope frontline workers will continue beyond the event. On the day, we will be sharing resources with you to take away to support you on this journey.
We recognise that this event could be a tough one. If you have any questions or uncertainties please don’t hesitate to email Joe or Kate at frontline@justlife.org.uk or call us at Justlife HQ on 0300 123 1550.
We will be creating a safe and supportive space on the day – we hope to have trained counsellors there to be on standby in case you need somebody to talk to one to one.
As per usual, incredible barista coffee will be provided by Bloom, there will also be delicious snacks, a chance to meet new and familiar faces plus the raffle too (for your chance to win a voucher for About Balance).
