Description

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is part of the Government’s plans to have one of the most digitally advanced tax administrations in the world. HMRC hope that by making fundamental changes the system will become more effective and efficient and will make it easier for taxpayers to get their tax right. In the long term this is likely to be advantageous for all, but for now, as the deadline draws ever nearer, the consequences of these changes can be overwhelming and there are many questions to be answered. This seminar provides clarification on the new rules for filing under Making Tax Digital for VAT and will assist in answering some of these questions.

It will also be a good opportunity for members to network and discuss issues with other business owners.

The event is available to both FSB members and non-FSB members. Places are limited so it is advisable to register as soon as possible. The cost of the Masterclass is £15 for FSB members and £20 for non-members and will include tea/coffee and a delicious buffet lunch in a magnificant setting.

Presented by James Cordiner who has worked his entire career in the tax arena, starting with HMRC as an Inspector of Taxes before joining Abbey Tax where he has represented members of the FSB who have been selected by HMRC for an enquiry into their business affairs. This role also involves giving advice to FSB members in relation to maintaining business records in an ever changing environment with increased statutory requirements.

Our venue:

Pentille Castle is family-run castle, wedding venue and 5 star B&B in Cornwall set in a 2,000 acre private estate on the bank of the River Tamar. You may be familiar with this beautiful venue as it has become famous as the stunning Penrose Hotel: the setting for Sky TV's 'Delicious' drama series staring Dawn French and Emilia Fox. The work that has gone in to this magnificent estate over the past few years means it’s once more a destination worthy of its grand reputation – and will be for years to come. The Coryton family run Pentillie Castle with a small but passionate team who take enormous pride in what they do.
