The FSB is redoubling its efforts to raise the status of the UK’s small businesses, which are the mainstay of the economy. Small firms generate wealth, employment and opportunity. They are the glue that binds our local communities together.
To this end we are delighted to be launching a campaign which will culminate in “Small Business Saturday” on 5th December, and we have secured the support of Sheffield City Council to join with us as in a celebration of the culture, colour and vibrancy of Sheffield’s small business community.
Our campaign will be led by Sheffield MP Paul Blomfield and will prompt the city’s councillors to drop in on their local small firms and get to know what makes them tick. We hope they’ll also get a better understanding of the many challenges faced by small businesses and help them to urge local residents to make better use of the vital (but under-utilised) small business community.
A full English breakfast will be served at 8.00am, followed by an opportunity to hear from Paul Blomfield MP. Breakfast is being kindly sponsored by YESSS Electrical, so the event is entirely free to attend, but numbers are strictly limited so early booking is essential.
