The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) ‘Building Personal Resilience’ course has been designed to raise awareness of stress, pressure and challenge, and recognise personal resilience strategies. Delegates will gain the skills to actively integrate new techniques to build resilience and enable optimal performance at work. Managing your energy and emotional state increases your ability to respond to stressors and handle relationships more effectively. Recognising your own thought patterns and exercising control helps direct focus and performance. Using the Resilience Roadmap, you’ll learn how to apply daily techniques that will help develop new habits and build your own and others resilience.

Program Facilitators

CIPD Lead Resilience Tutor – Phil Willcox

Phil has made a promise; to make work better by placing emotion at the heart of work. Phil focuses on enriching lives through the creation of emotion centric workplaces and reducing harm by uncovering deception in the world of work. He fuses academic achievements (MSc in Emotion, Deception and Credibility) with his real-life practitioner experience, nearly 20 years in the fields of learning and development (L&D) and HR. Phil has carved out a niche as an expert in all things learning and emotion as well as made himself a formidable source of actionable insight for those looking to create amazing workplaces. Phil is extremely well networked within the L&D and HR field regularly speaking at conferences, regional events, providing social media coverage, interviewing industry leaders and experts on his podcasts. In addition to maintaining his clients and personal network, Phil is a coach and mentor for a number of practitioners. As well as working with peers, he is a coach to many business executives and develops his own practice through regular supervision.

Qualifications:

  • MSc Emotion, Credibility and Deception
  • BPS Level A and B in Psychometric Testing (Including 16PF and MBTI step I and II)
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Forensic Emotion Awareness
  • Certified FACS Coder
  • Certificate in Training Practice

Recent Experience and projects:

  • Fujitsu - Facilitating the improvement in capability and capacity across an EMEA wide team focusing on performance consulting and effectively engaging with internal stakeholders.
  • Boots Opticians - Building the HR team and wider organisation capability to lead in a Purpose Led way. Working alongside the internal team Phil’s ideas, energy and commitment created tangible business outcomes in employee engagement and business performance as well as deep personal change for Individuals
