Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

This workshop is an opportunity for local artists, makers, craftspeople, hobbyists and anyone else interested to find out more about the new Fun Palaces project hosted by Elizabeth Blackwell Institute for Health Research at the University of Bristol, bringing arts, science and communities together as part of the global Fun Palaces campaign and Healthy City Week 2017.

Fun Palaces take place over 7th and 8th October weekend and into Healthy City Week until 14th. Come along to:

  • Hear more about the Fun Palaces concept, impact around the world and benefits of Fun Palaces.

  • Find out about plans for Fun Palaces in Bristol as part of Healthy City Week and how you can get involved in our hubs in Avonmouth and Lawrence Hill and wider across the city.

  • Network and meet potential collaborators as you develop your own ideas for Fun Palaces or link into existing Fun Palace Maker teams.

Fun Palaces will draw on health and sustainability themes identified by local groups in Avonmouth and Lawrence Hill. These include (but are not limited to):

- Air pollution
- Healthy environments
- Food and nutrition
- Cancer, diabetes and other health conditions
- Active travel (join us to find out more about our Fun Palaces on a train, ferry and via customised YoBikes!)
