Functional Foundations: Empowering New English Functional Skills Teachers

This interactive NCFE English Functional Skills training session is aimed towards teachers who are new to teaching Functional Skills English.

The afternoon will be facilitated by NCFE Provider Development Officer, Patricia Devlin.

All NCFE Provider Development Officers are experienced teachers who support centres with the planning, delivery and preparation for assessments of NCFE qualifications.

1:00pm-2:00pm Reading Skills

This interactive workshop style session will cover key reading skills, including language and presentational features, formality and tone and reading for meaning.

2:10 – 3:00 Writing Skills

During this session we will cover basic writing skills and delivery strategies. Along with this we will look at the specific requirements of the different styles of writing needed in the English Functional Skills Writing component.
