This interactive NCFE Maths Functional Skills training session is aimed towards teachers who are new to teaching Functional Skills Maths.
The morning will be facilitated by NCFE Provider Development Officer, Charmaine Phelps.
All NCFE Provider Development Officers are experienced teachers who support centres with the planning, delivery and preparation for assessments of NCFE qualifications.
10 - 11:00 = Number Skills
We will cover the basics of number including non-calculator skills, fractions, decimals and percentages. We will review participants strengths and challenges in teaching this area and refresh our toolbox of strategies for teaching content related to number at all levels.
11:10 – 12 = Measures and handling data
This session will give an overview of shape, space and measure, statistical measures, charts and graphs. The session will include break out room activities and will be tailored to the needs of the attendees on the day.
