Functional Front-end: ClojureScript with Thomas G. Kristensen
Clojure's powerful functional tools are available on the front end. core.async allows you to write synchronous-looking code without loosing asynchronicity. Add macros and fast immutable data-structures into the mix and you've got a compelling new language for UI work!
Afterwards, we'll be running a dojo. No prior experience with FP is needed for this part; we'll all be coming from different levels. Our goals here are to equip you with a more of an understanding of functional programming and it's real-world applications and to learn from each other. More than all that: to have some fun with FP!
There will be plenty of room to ask questions too.
The Guardian has been kind enough to offer us space (thanks @patrickhamann!). The address is above, for a map and extensive travel details see here.
