About this event

  • Event lasts 20 hours

Paediatric neurosurgical rotation or on-call can be daunting for junior neurosurgical trainees due to lack of exposure to paediatric patients and conditions affecting children. However, it is crucial for junior trainees to be equipped with the fundamentals of managing these patients to safeguard and improve patient care. This will also enable trainees to optimise and enhance their learning during their paediatric neurosurgical rotation or on-call.

From this course, delegates will be able to:

  • To understand how infants and children are different compared to adult.
  • To be familiar with the essentials of the care of the critically ill paediatric neurosurgical patients.
  • To comprehend the principles of managing several paediatric neurosurgical conditions including head and spine trauma, hydrocephalus, head and spine malformations, neuro-oncology and infection.
