This dynamic course is specifically tailored for new managers and supervisors who are eager to build a strong foundation in essential supervisory skills. Participants will delve into key concepts and practical strategies designed to help them successfully navigate the complexities of their supervisory roles. Emphasis will be placed on fostering safe and supportive relationships within their teams, ensuring a positive work environment.
The course is (£ 120+vat) structured into two training sessions: day one on 15.10.25 and day two on 11.11.25. There will be six hours of training over the two dates, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the material thoroughly.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the Role of Supervision- Gain insight into the importance of supervision in enhancing team performance and ensuring the well-being of staff and the individuals they support.
- Identify Essential capacities —consider and learn key skills focussing on learning styles, relating, collaborating and sustaining our own resilience in the face of challenging work.
- Create Safe Supervisory Relationships - Explore strategies to establish trust and safety within the supervisory relationship, ensuring staff feel valued and supported.
- Recognising and managing blocks to receiving supervision – Reflect on what barriers might be present for supervisees and how best to navigate those barriers.
- Implement Practical Considerations - Discuss logistical aspects of supervision, such as supervision agreements, setting agendas, and providing feedback, to optimise the supervisory process.
- Prepare for Future Growth - Identify pathways for continued professional development in supervision skills.
Furthermore, those who complete this course will be well-positioned for continued growth and development with our Reflective Supervision Skills session, which has a focus on reflective practice for supervisors in children's homes.
Suzi is a dedicated teacher with 25 years of experience in the third sector, focusing on drug and alcohol addiction support and child sexual exploitation. She specialises in trauma-informed practices and well-being, empowering individuals to heal and thrive. As a yoga and breath body-mind instructor, Suzi infuses her workshops with transformative elements that promote resilience and self-discovery.
Delivery - The virtual classroom is hosted on Zoom. Participants need access to a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a quiet and private space to join from, and access to Zoom. A certificate will be provided.
