Level 2 Certificate in Data Protection and Data Security

This course runs for 4 weeks with one, two hour online session each week, you will also need to dedicate between 2-3 hours of self study per week.

Course Start Date: Monday 24 May

Session Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm

Course Duration: A two hour session online Zoom session each week for over a four-week period (excluding Bank Holiday week commencing 31 May)

  • Session 1 - Monday 24 May
  • Session 2 - Monday 7 June
  • Session 3 - Monday 14 June
  • Session 4 - Monday 21 June

Data protection & data security is no longer a part of business you can be casual about. Data protection compliance is an essential legal requirement for all organisations. Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in May 2018, it is more vital than ever that anyone who works with personal data understands the laws and acts in compliance.

Anyone who works with personal data needs to understands the laws surrounding it. This fully online level 2 Certificate in Data Protection and Data Security will provide you with essential knowledge on data protection compliance.

The qualification will help to develop your understanding of key data legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act. You will learn the steps that organisations can take to protect data from common threats to ICT systems, as well as the consequences that failing to protect data can have for individuals and organisations.

Course Content:

  • Current data protection legislation, and how it is applied
  • Organisational procedures concerning data
  • Possible threats to ICT systems and data, and how to protect against them
  • Consequences of not protecting data, and the impact of possible breaches.

Course Fee and Eligibility

The course is government funded and you will be required to meet the following criteria to qualify for funding,

  • Be over 19 years of age
  • Have proof of residency in the UK for at least three years and live in the Greater London area.
  • Be unemployed or on a career break or
  • Be in receipt of a benefit such as Job Seekers Allowance or Universal Credit or
  • Be employed/self-employed or
  • On furlough or unemployed but NOT on any benefits

You will also be asked to provide evidence of your highest qualification.

Please note: you will be required to provide proof of eligibility before we are able to confirm your booking. If you don't meet the eligibility criteria, you have the option to pay a discounted rate of just £250 for the course.

During this period whilst we deliver training via a virtual classroom, learners will require access to a WIFI connection and a laptop, tablet or mobile device.
