Description

Fiona Murphy, Senior Associate at Murphy Mitchell Consulting.

Fiona is a specialist in emerging data publishing issues with 20 years' publishing experience. Fiona is a Senior Associate at Murphy Mitchell Consulting, which was set up address the pressures arising from the collection, management, storage re-use and access requirements of research data. An independent publishing consultant advising institutions, learned societies and commercial publishing companies, Fiona has written and presented widely on data publishing, open data and open science. She is also an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Environmental Analytics, University of Reading.

Fiona will speak about the data publishing landscape, and some of the ways in which data is becoming increasingly important from publishers' perspectives.

David Carr, Programme Manager - Wellcome Open Research

David will be speaking about the Wellcome Trust’s policy on data sharing, and how they work with partners and the broader researcher community to address the challenges of data sharing. He will also talk about the new Wellcome Open Research publishing platform, which provides a venue for rapidly publishing findings.

This talk will be of interest to anyone with, or aiming for Wellcome funding in the future, and for anyone with an interest in sharing data, and Open Research.
