About this event

Applying for grants and funding for photography projects can feel like an uphill struggle. This session offers strategies and advice on how to approach funding applications with confidence.

The workshop will include a wealth of strategies and tips including:

  • how to draw up a simple budget and estimate project costs
  • how to structure your pitch and what information to include
  • how to select the best images for a portfolio as part of a proposal
  • how to identify which grants are appropriate for which projects

This workshop is led by documentary photographer and founder of Photo Scratch Hanna-Katrina Jedrosz. Her clients include The New Statesman, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph Magazine, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Johnny Flynn and Robert Macfarlane, among others. Her photo essays have been funded by The Royal Photographic Society, IdeasTap and The Polish Ex-Combatants Association of Great Britain. She was previously nominated for the Tim Hetherington Trust Visionary Award and the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. She is also a freelance picture researcher and editor for The Sunday Times.
