The Heritage Lottery Fund helps people and communities to look after and celebrate their heritage. At this workshop we’ll talk about the heritage you could explore from local cultures, memories, traditions to museum collections, historic sites and the natural environment. We’re passionate about helping young people to engage with heritage to develop new skills, interests and aspirations, to connect with their wider communities and have fun. Young people can take part in projects funded under all our grant programmes. We also have a dedicated grant programme, Young Roots, that gives young people aged 11 to 25 the chance to plan and deliver their own heritage projects.
The Holywood Trust aims to help young people in Dumfries and Galloway by providing grants to both Individual young people, and to Organisations working with young people across the region. The Holywood Trust awards grants to individuals aged 15-25 years old for a range of purposes, particularly where the support will contribute to the personal development of a young person in some tangible way. Grant awards are also made to Organisations working with, or providing opportunities for, young people in D&G.
