These workshops are for I2C Project Members - if you are not yet registered to the fully funded I2C Project you can still apply for tickets below as a 'non-member' and you will be contacted to check your eligibility to register for the project. Designed to equip entrepreneurs and SMEs with the skills needed to understand the various finance and funding options available to their businesses. This session will cover the following:

One of two directors primarily responsible for client project and product development. Built a

strong business base with core associates to distribute growth capabilities and resource,

designing and developing a series of business improvement programmes to drive company

growth

Development Agency and Northwest Aerospace Alliance. Prior to this, worked as a concepts

Engineering within BAE SYSTEMS, managing several innovation and developmental projects and

programmes.

Key Achievements:

✦ Assisted over 250 companies in strategic and product development projects, supporting over

£100M’s worth of developmental activities.

✦ Personally secured over £2M worth of grant funding to assist SMEs in various R&D and growth

programmes.

✦ Managed over 20 development projects for BAE SYSTEMS resulting in the personal award of

4 x National Chairman’s Awards for Innovation

Nick Roach – Profile

A highly experienced Operations Director with excellent relationship building and project management skills, gained over many years from working with dynamic private sector companies. Successfully led and delivered major regional and national business support projects, leading and motivating teams of up to 60 delivery and administration staff in multi-site locations. Extensive experience of working with entrepreneurs, owner managers and leadership teams to meet the challenges of growing a profitable and successful business.

Regional Operations Director - Winning Pitch (March 2010 – June 2016)

Key player in an entrepreneurial SME leadership team that delivered exceptional and profitable

growth (from £2m t/o to £11m within 5 years). This experience included recruiting and building

teams, transitioning from an entrepreneurial to corporate environment and working with national

and regional partners in a complex arena of business support.

✦ Operations Director for the Business Growth Service, a £150m national flagship business

support service funded by Government, engaging with over 20,000 growth ambitious

businesses across England.

✦ Led multi-disciplinary project teams on behalf of a national consortium of delivery partners

with specific operational accountability for project mobilisation and delivery of the service

across the North of England.

✦ Represented Winning Pitch on the Business Growth Service national leadership team, working

with senior Partners and Directors at Grant Thornton, and CEO’s / MD’s from other delivery

suppliers.

Previously (2007 to 2011) - led and managed the successful delivery of the £8m North West

High Growth Programme – the largest single business support project in Europe at the time,

delivering bespoke coaching support to circa 1700 SME’s.

Other roles & experience

Worked extensively as an independent business coach and trainer in the private & public sectors,

primarily with early stage companies. Director of a small engineering company with full P&L

responsibility. Early management career was formed at Baxi Heating, a major domestic heating

products manufacturer, with an annual turnover of £70m.
