Learning how to deal with investors is a skill not many ventures master. To make it even more complicated, different stakeholders tend to have different objectives. For instance, a venture capital firm may have a financial objective i.e. multiply its return on the initial investment while a corporate venture capital firm may pursue strategic objectives that may or may not be always aligned with the objectives of the startup. When this misalignment of objectives appears, the startup has to be prepared to swim with sharks…
