Event description

Description

Come along for a night of spoken word, poetry and speeches in support of local children affected by the Grenfell fire. Taking place when we have got back from the Silent March, the venue is two minutes walk from Ladbroke Grove station (between Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road).

Featuring:

Arthur Smith, Radio 4 regular and 'Grumpy old man' who has appeared on almost every TV or radio panel show.

Jon Snow, Channel 4 broadcaster who has reported extensively about the fire.

Moyra Samuels, Justice 4 Grenfell Campaign Co-ordinator.

Ava Vidal, TV commentator and writer who has just returned from Dominica where she helped with the relief effort following the devastating hurricane that hit the Caribbean.

Attila the Stockbroker, punk poet and political campaigner who has performed spoken word at over 1,000 shows across Europe since he burst on to the scene on the John Peel show in 1980.

Matt Wrack, General Secretary of the Fire Brigades Union.

Piers Thompson, Save our Silchester and Portobello Radio.

Plus screening of BLINDSPOT, acclaimed short film that was produced through the Forward Focus Short Film Initiative that combined a comprehensive package of production funding, training and expert mentoring for young people living in West London who had been directly or indirectly affected by Grenfell Tower Fire.

There will also be a raffle on the night.

All profits from the night go to Christmas for Grenfell (for more information go to: https://www.gofundme.com/christmas-for-grenfell)
